Religious education ministry hosted a workshop for parents giving them practical tools on how to navigate the digital environment that can help raise kids whose faith is alive and expressed in social media.
The youth in our religious education ministry had a class on safeguarding the children mission. St. Timothy is committed to keeping our children safe from abuse. The class gives them the tools that they will need to help them make good decisions and create healthy relationships.
The faithful adorned our Lady of Guadalupe with lots of beautiful flowers during the mass. After the mass, the community gathered in the parish hall portico for a breakfast treat consisted of pork and cheese tamales and champurado. Thank you to our generous donor and to all who helped make this celebration special.
The church was full of guests and family members excited to reflect on 9 gospel readings from the fall of man to the birth of Jesus. Each gospel was accompanied by a musical arrangement performed by the various ministries in the church.
Be watchful, Be Alert! The coming of the baby Jesus is upon us. The children created their own advent wreath as they prepare for the baby Jesus to be born on Christmas Day.
The parish hall was fully transformed with lots of goods and items for sale. The women's club had a very successful boutique sale. Thank you to all who helped, gave their time, bought goods to support the work of the women's club.
It has become a tradition here at St. Timothy, every year the youth ministry gathers together at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels to bring the magic of Christmas and the love of Christ and their families in Downtown Los Angeles.
St. Timothy's Women's Club celebrated an early thanksgiving meal with friends and new members of the club. It was a very generous serving of healthy food of warm lentil soup and specialty sandwiches topped with a pumpkin pie and whipped cream.
St. Timothy Women's Club host a get-together every 3rd Thursday of the month, open to all who are interested to meet new friends, enjoy home cooked meals, and play some games.
Last October 3, 2023 was the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. In honor of his feast, St. Francis of Assisi the patron saint for animals, there was a blessing of animals at the front lawn of the Church.
In the spirit of the Eucharistic Revival, the Religious Education Ministry held a workshop on Teaching Mass with speakers Fr. Joseph Visperas and Dn. Sonal Seneviratne. Dn. Sonal presented how the mass evolved from the time of the First Christians to the present day. Fr. Joseph catechized the two major parts of the mass, liturgy of the word and liturgy of the Eucharist.
